Best Milk (Book Review)

I love the idea of breastfeeding, so I absolutely love promoting it! I am not currently nursing, but I know that when I have another baby I will breastfeed again!

Oh I love this book! The illustrations and the story are lovely... probably one of my favorites books on breastfeeding!

I loved that it's written from the little girls point of view. And how it gives you real life situations that would be appropriate for a child to understand, "We take her with us to"; play at the park, to the grocery store, to my dance class, and even at the beach.

I really loved that Kate Carothers took time to appreciate the family in as a whole.

"Even though our baby best feeds a lot, Mommy still has lots of time for me." The picture is of the mom nursing the baby while putting a puzzle together with the little girl. It incorporates the family in all aspects. A few pictures involved the father, which I equally loved. I know my own husband is a huge part of the success of nursing when you have other children as well. But I really enjoyed the fact that women can also have great success nursing while tending to other children and the new baby. For instance, bringing the young girl to the park by herself, mom shopping with baby in tow (a sling) and child in cart... I believed this helps me remember that I am not confined to a chair! Life goes on, we simply find ways to adjust. Nursing in public can be a scary thing, but this book also shows that it's nothing to be ashamed of and it's completely possible anywhere.

Best Milk is a wonderful book, beautifully written and illustrated. I am beyond thrilled to have it in my collection now! Can not wait to read it to my kids again when I have a new baby!

BUY IT!! Best Milk is available online for $9.95 but is on sale for $6.95/$7.95 depending on the Edition you want.

*I was given Best Milk FREE of charge for an honest review. No other compensation was given.

Breastfeeding Week: Making More Milk

This is an amazing resource! Making More Milk was a fantastic read, easy to follow and understand. Especially for women who feel they aren't making enough milk, or losing the supply they have. This would be the perfect book for a women considering breastfeeding, but also fabulous for a current nursing mother as well.

I found this book to be very essential when nursing. It is well-written and researched to the last detail. With important information about how milk production works and reasons why you could be losing your supply. Making More Milk has many chapters describing each possible reason and cause. Not only does it explain the causes, but it gives you information on how to fix each problem. Or to even stop the problems from even forming.

I actually have problems with my milk supply. I struggled with my first son, and barely made enough to feed him. And now having an 8 week old son I still find time where I just don't seem to have enough. After reading this book, it help immensely! I found that not only are there reasons created from the mother, but from the baby, or uncontrollable situations such a illness and more. I love each suggestion and solution. It really made me think about the possibilities for my own supply and how to resolve them. Making More Milk offers a guide to herbs and superfoods that help boost your supply, which is what helped the most for me.

You don't have to be losing your supply to read this book. It is a great resource to ALL breastfeeding mothers... even pregnant mothers before they deliver.

Breastfeeding Week: *Baby Bond Nursing Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Want to be discreet while nursing without covering your precious little up? Baby Bond has found the perfect way to do that.

I was able to review Baby Bond Couture Nursing cover. The Couture version is a hybrid between a nursing top and a belly band. Which means you can not only use it to cover up your breasts, but you can use it to cover up you stomach! 2 separate ways to wear for every day shirts. I was thrilled to review this version of the Baby Bond Nursing Cover Up because I breastfeed both ways. I love the convenience of the pull down/button down shirts but I also don't own too many shirts that I can wear everyday like that, sometimes I simply wear any ol' shirt and pull it up instead, so having such a versatile way of wearing this was ideal.

I really loved it! I love that it is easy to use, it rolls up tight for easy storage in your diaper bag, and it didn't cover my baby..just me. I love the way I can see my baby, and that he doesn't end up getting super sweaty underneath a blanket.

The entire concept of Baby Bond Nurser is perfect.. Original, Flex, and Couture has such a unique way of nursing a baby while covering up the important parts.

BUY IT!! Baby Bond Nursing has 3 stylish ways to feed your baby for only $35. Use 25% coupon code "naptime" good until December 31, 2009.

Breastfeeding Week: *Mommy Breastfeeds My Baby Brother Review And Giveaway {CLOSED}

I am a nursing mother. I have a 6 week old baby, a 2 year old and my 4 year old daughter.

Although, I did nurse my 2 year old; apparently my oldest daughter forgot or maybe has just seen to many family and friends bottle feeding, climbed up onto the couch while I nursed my brand new baby and asked.

"What are you doing?"

"I have to feed the baby."

"HE EATS YOU?!!" She said puzzled and shocked.

I couldn't help but laugh and try to explain what exactly I was doing and why.

So, This book is perfect. It helps teach children the reason for breastfeeding and why we do it in a sweet way that was easy for my 2 children to understand.

It tells a story of a little girl who doesn't understand why a baby would eat from her mother. The book is beautiful and shows a "realness" from the hospital to being confined to a couch with a toddler being a restless child wanting attention. Why mommy needs to feed the baby and why the baby needs her in return.

I thought this book had such a sweet way of showing such a beautiful thing.

BUY IT!! You can buy this book directly from Mommy Breastfeeds.com for $16.99. It also just won 2009 Mom's Best Literary Gold Award.

WIN IT!! I am giving away my copy of Mommy Breastfeeds My Baby Brother to (1) lucky reader. The book is in mint condition and is lovely. Follow my blog and Leave a comment with your email to win.

Breastfeeding Week: *Undercover Mama Nursing Shirts Review And Giveaway {CLOSED}

What if you could make any shirt a nursing shirt? With Undercover Mama... You can!

Undercover Mama has made an amazing product to help with nursing. Being a nursing mother this is a must have! I first came across it while searching for nursing shirt and becoming frustrated over the lack of appeal most of them had. Or a heavy price tag. I then just started looking for tube top to act as a undershirt but had no luck on length. I didn't want to show a ton of skin while feeding my baby.

I was thrilled to review this great undershirt type.. I never have to worry about if I could nurse in public without showing off my stomach, my sides, and back. And I don't have to wear anything special anymore. Any shirt becomes a nursing shirt! And you still get the added "layering look", which if you ask my husband is all I care about! I layer everything! So this really is one of my favorite items, especially since I am nursing. This truly is a must have.

The amazing part about the Undercover Mama shirt is it clips to any nursing bra to become one of those popular nursing tanks.

BUY IT!! Visit Undercover Mama and get your own for only $20.

WIN IT!! This shirt has made my life so much easier. Undercover Mama is giving away a shirt to one lucky reader to help make their life easier and still stylish too. To enter: leave a comment with email address telling what color you'd love to win.

Lashinoh Lanolin Creams

I love.. love love Lansinoh Lanolin! I think it pretty much saved my breast as a first time breastfeeder.. (I have 2 kids but my first was only breastfed 1 week) I swear I had one with me everywhere I went. I was Obsessed!

Why?

First off: it helps with cracks and dryness.. Thank goodness!
Second: you don't have to wipe it off before nursing.. It is 100% natural! What is better than that?
Third: I think it has a flavor.. not added or anything, but my son seemed to latch on better (1st few weeks) when I used this.

After falling in love with the Breast Cream and storage items.. I decided to venture into the Diaper Rash Ointment. I HATE Desitin.. my babies always scream when it was applied.
So I try to use more natural creams, (Lansioh and Aveeno)

My son never really gets bad diaper rash, but he can get quite sore.. this stuff works pretty good. The Lansinoh Diaper Rash Ointment is creamy, smells great, wipes clean, isn't even oily, and there is no stinging. I love this stuff, this is my new favorite diaper cream. (sorry Aveeno)

Be sure if you are having a baby, I'll be sending you some of this stuff!

I love my kids, my husband, and my dog. I also have slight a obsession with makeup and fashion. I love to cook, make sugar cookies, and craft things. Anything that can make my life easier or prettier... I am pretty much all for! I love shoes, mostly high heels, because they make my legs look amazeballs. Or at least less blah. I don't like laundry. Like at all. But I love clothes. Does that make sense?
