Complete Pregnancy Fitness with Erin O'Brien

Fitness is important. {obviously} Not just for vanity but for health. This shouldn't stop when you find out your pregnant. It does take some altering, but physical health is extra important for mom... your now carrying new life, your body is going to change and your growing baby needs mom to be in good health for the challenges ahead. (this will include after pregnancy)

The Complete Pregnancy Fitness comes with 2 DVD's; Prenatal Fitness Fix and Postnatal Rescue. Staying fit, healthy and avoiding gaining more weight than necessary while pregnant has universally been a concern for women. This is not only great for pregnancy but essential for after baby as well. You can ease back into exercises without hurting or overextending yourself.

The Prenatal Fitness Fix offers workout for moms-to-be that are new to working out or have been working out and need to adjust their routine to suit the safety needs of their unborn child. Erin leads you in a 40 minute blend of fat-burning cardio, muscle toning, strength training, and tension relieving stretches. But also includes a 20 minute partner workout, which Erin demonstrates with her husband, James Denton (Desperate Housewives!)

The Prenatal Fitness Fix was amazing! I am not even pregnant just yet and it sure worked up a sweat! I may continue this until I get pregnant and during... and probably even after! What I loved most about the Prenatal Fitness Fix is it's done in your living room. She uses items that (most) people already have. A couch, coffee table, sturdy chair etc. There really is no excuse you can't try everything.

I loved the different camera views. She shows you exactly what to do and how to do it. {She even shows you what not to do.}

Postnatal Rescue: Erin O'Brien sets up 3 progressions for the Postnatal Rescue DVD. In just 15 minutes a day, you will rehabilitate your back, abdominals, buttocks, inner thighs, and hips; all the muscle groups affected by your pregnancy and delivery. Erin guides you through each progression and once you've mastered it, gently urges you to move on to the next challenge.
#1 is beginner, #2 is a little harder, and #3 is the most challenging. These are for after delivery when your just beginning to workout again. (usually 6 weeks, talk to your doctor). I really loved how she talks to you. Even on the bonus (First Stretches, which guides you from the very beginning of your recovery up to 1 year postpartum) how she speaks to you knowing you JUST had a child! She understands the demands of a new mommy, physically and mentally.

Erin O'Brien really knows a thing or two about prenatal and postnatal fitness. Not only does she accommodate real life circumstances; {ie: Bathroom breaks, WATER breaks} She also takes into consideration the fact that you just had a baby! I think my favorite line on the Prenatal Fitness Fix was, "If you have to use the bathroom, PAUSE ME... don't make me workout alone." Completely fun personality and easy to watch.

BUY IT!! Complete Pregnancy Fitness with Erin O'Brien sales for $24.99 but is on sale right now @ Acacia Lifestyle.com for only $21.24. {These can also be sold separately.}

Prenatal Yoga with Desi Bartlett

Yoga is an ideal way to stay fit and healthy during pregnancy.

Prenatal Yoga, with celebrated yoga and fitness talent Desi Bartlett is such a offers a gentle, calm, and peaceful way to practice prenatal yoga. I found that the movements and poses were not only easy to do, but beneficial, especially in the mornings when your muscles and body are typically more stiff. This is definitely a great way to start your morning routine!

Prenatal Yoga with Desi Barlett is segmented into {1} 20 minute and {2} 10 minute practices, so it can easily fit in anyone's schedule. This flowing yoga program is designed to be used throughout your pregnancy to help build strength and stamina, reduce stress and fatigue, and connect you with your baby and changing body.

The practice starts with meditation and breathing techniques that reduce stress and fatigue and quiet the mind. Then with floor and standing sequences, you'll work on strengthening our body and increasing energy and stamina... all things that will assist you greatly during labor, delivery, and beyond. You'll also enjoy posture for flexibility and relaxation that will leave you feeling peaceful and restored.

Yoga can be one of my favorite exercises to do, especially while pregnant. My last pregnancy I did a prenatal yoga DVD the entire pregnancy, (I only gained 22 pounds!) and felt great. I found that if I started my day with yoga, not only was my mood better because I felt better but I also had less aches and pains from pregnancy.

If you are new to Prenatal Yoga this DVD is a good place to start. {But even yogis can enjoy the relaxation and peacefulness of it.}

BUY IT!! Purchase Prenatal Yoga with Desi Bartlett for $14.99 {on sale right now for $12.74} at Acacia Lifestyle. You can also find this at other online sites like Amazon, etc.

MommyShape Prenatal Complete

Looking for a well-rounded pregnancy workout?

The Creator Diane Fong; former professional dancer and fitness model, teaches pre/postnatal classes in NYC while pursuing her Naturopathic Medical Doctorate...definitely knows a few things about fitness and care. This alone made is easy to trust her and her knowledge of prenatal exercise. MommyShape Prenatal Complete is all-encompassing program and includes modifications for all levels of fitness and each stage of pregnancy. MommyShape is also physician approved and follows the guidelines set forth by the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

I was pretty excited to review the MommyShape Prenatal DVD. Mostly because it looked like fun! MommyShape Prenatal Complete is the ONLY prenatal fitness program that includes 6 unique stand alone or mix and match workouts; sculpting, dance, yoga, self-massage, and relaxation exercises. You can combine them for a Complete Workout or simply pick and chose to your liking.

*Sculpt: it easy enough to do while pregnant but also with a bit of a challenge to help keep you fit.

*Dance: I really loved this one. She mixes different types of dance like Hawaiian and African within it to make it simple and fun. The best part is that it helped loosen me. I think starting your day out with this would help also with tension from pregnancy. I also enjoyed the fact that she had a seperate section for the instruction of each dance move. This way you aren't just thrown into the workout and falling behind!

*Yoga: I love yoga already. I really enjoyed the fact that she accommodated beginners, intermediate, and advanced by showing how to do each move separately and splitting the screen to show them. I am not an advanced person but I enjoyed most of the positions in the advanced!

*Self-Massage: Don't get me wrong I adore a massage from my husband but I really enjoyed this simple self massage right after the workout. Easy to do and feels great too.

*Relaxation: I will be honest and say that I really love the relaxation parts of prenatal DVD's. Just enjoying the relaxation, the breath, the connection of mom and baby.. it's always my favorite part.

BENEFITS:
*Ease and reward your pregnant body.
*Build strength and agility for labor, delivery, and recovery.
*Soften your child birthing hips using specially-designed prenatal dance moves.
*Learn and practice birthing poses, breathing, self--massage, and relaxation techniques to help you through your pregnancy and during your delivery.
*Build stamina for the "marathon" of labor.

Honestly, there wasn't anything I would change. I really enjoyed doing MommyShape Prenatal entirely. I was challenging enough, but enjoyable and fun.

BUY IT!! Look great and feel great with The MommyShape Prenatal Complete DVD {$29.95}

Strawberry Shortcake: Bright Lights, Big Dreams DVD

Arriving just in time for the holidays, our deliciously sweet girl next door takes a new turn as STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG DREAMS comes to DVD on November 1.

It's time to dazzle and dream with Strawberry and her friends as they compete for some berry special prizes. Whether it’s spinning and twirling in the annual dance-off, or beating a world record, there is nothing these girls can’t try. But when the road to success seems overwhelming, they soon discover that the real key to being a winner is just having fun with your friends.

I was so excited to review Strawberry Shortcake: Bright Lights Big Dreams, my daughter loves reading the Strawberry Shortcake books so I knew the movie would be alot of fun.

We love the characters, each one has their own unique talent and personality! Which makes it easy to relate to one or more of the characters. My daughter loves Strawberry Shortcake and Plum Pudding the best. She LOVES to cook and dance, so I think it was pretty obvious she'd love the Cafe and the dance studio! But I think one of my favorites is Lemon Meringue... the hair stylist!

This DVD has several short stories within it. Each story shows how the girls love to help one another. I think this is such a creative, sweet, and fun movie.
Good for any little girl's collection. (great for a stocking stuffer for this Christmas!)

I love my kids, my husband, and my dog. I also have slight a obsession with makeup and fashion. I love to cook, make sugar cookies, and craft things. Anything that can make my life easier or prettier... I am pretty much all for! I love shoes, mostly high heels, because they make my legs look amazeballs. Or at least less blah. I don't like laundry. Like at all. But I love clothes. Does that make sense?
