I was wondering aimlessly through my local bookstore when this game caught my eye. I was instantly in love with the idea of it.
(Quoted from inside the box:) Literacy means ability to read. But it includes all the ways we use language to communicate--- listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It starts to develop years before reading begins. Storytelling is a very important component of literacy skills. In addition to reading books, you can help your child build critical pre-reading skill like sequencing, vocabulary development, narrative and comprehension skills by engaging in storytelling. Tell Me a Story facilitates storytelling in several ways.
I put these in my kids' stocking this year for Christmas. They loved them! We sat for hours making up new and fun stories to tell and create. The best part was they got to tell the story just the way they wanted it. We played a game where each of us {3} got to pick 2 cards at a time and build on from the previous person's story and pictures. It was not only fun but very cute.
I ended up purchasing the Mystery in the Forest and Fairy Tale Mix-Up. We love the pictures and are able to creative all kinds of stories. It's endless fun! My kids have really enjoyed making stories.. no two stories are alike.
Buy It!! Each Box comes with 36 flash cards with 36 different images on each card, and sell for around $10.
