I sort of have an obsession with children's books. I love so many!! Here are a few that I think are fun, lively, colorful, and my kids' favorites.
When we moved away from home to a brand new state, my mother in law bought my kids' this book. Hello! Is this Grandma?
I find this book pretty cute. I love the illustrations! But most of all I love that my kids' love this book. They giggle every time we read it. (it may have something to do with the voices we make for the characters:) Their favorite part is when Logan is talking to the crocodile. The crocodile wants to eat Logan and has a cookbook with Logan Soup, Logan Pie, and Logan Burger... the pictures in the cookbook are really cute! My kids' think it's simply hilarious.
I think it's a really fun book for little kids especially if they love their own grandma!
We lived in Hawaii for 6 months (yes, I miss it dearly) while there I fell in love with the culture, so I decided to bring some of that with me home to remember. Too Many Mangoes is about sharing... and I LOVE the story. My kids', especially my 2 year old, loves this book. The book starts with a grandfather and his grandkids picking mangoes. They find out they have "too many mangoes" and decide to share them with their neighbors. Upon visiting the neighbors and giving them mangoes, the neighbors decide they want to share something as well. By the time the children get home, they are out of mangoes but still have a full wagon.
I think the illustrations are adorable, and the story is beautiful while teaching something so wonderful as giving.
I simply love the illustrations!! This book is whimsical and poetic. Although, I love the poetry.. the illustrations are so well done I am drawn to it. All the World is about the world, people, beauty, and love. I love how the story sort of grows with the pictures, starts in the morning with a family at the beach, then moves throughout a typical day; market, park, family and friends, finally night falls and off to bed. This book isn't about a specific family, more like families, friends, the world and the beauty of it all.
I think my favorite parts were definitely the pictures and what was drawn. For instance the simpleness of life, a man with a wagon and his (grand)kids, a women breastfeeding while reading or studying a book, babywearing while at the market, dad playing with his baby, trikes and strollers, friends on bikes, family and friends getting together. Life, real life is portrayed in this book. I can feel for the book, reminds me of a "day in the life".
*I wasn't compensated in anyway to conduct this review. I loved these books and wanted to share them.
